Asthma is a when the airways (bronchial tubes) in your lungs get inflamed and become swollen. This makes it difficult for air to move in and out of your lungs which causes coughing, shortness of breath and/or tightness of chest. These symptoms usually manifest during exercise.

Cannabis can improve lung function
In the New England Journal of Medicine (1973) a study had proven that Marijuana smoke causes Broncho-dilation (Broncho-dilation help open your airways) rather than Broncho-construction (closing of the airways). It is recommended that Cannabis be inhaled through a vaporizer.
Smoking Marijuana can also be done but it's not as healthy as a vaporizer. Ingesting Cannabis Oils and other cannabis based edibles have also proven to help open airways. More research is required on this topic, especially the delivery methods of the cannabis to the Asthma patients.
